Narrow Gauge Box Cab Locomotive - 0n18

 0n18 BoxCab Locomotive  1/48 - 9 mm

A box cab locomotive is a type of train engine where the cab or driver's compartment is enclosed in a box-shaped structure that is attached to the body of the locomotive. This design allows for better visibility for the driver and easier access to the controls.

Diesel box cab locomotives were first introduced in the mid-20th century as a replacement for steam locomotives. They quickly gained popularity due to their higher fuel efficiency, lower maintenance requirements, and more reliable operation. The diesel box cab locomotive uses diesel fuel to power its engines and move an electric generator, which powers electric traction motors that turn the locomotive's wheels.

These types of locomotives were used for a wide range of applications, from hauling freight and passenger trains to serving in industrial settings such as mines and factories.

Today, diesel box cab locomotives are still used in some industries, but have largely been replaced by more advanced locomotive designs such as the AC traction locomotive. Nonetheless, they remain an important part of the history of rail transportation and a fascinating subject for railway enthusiasts.

I made the 3D model in two versions H0e and 0n18.
The 3D models and prepared to use the TM-TR02 motorization.
The engine and cart will be separated from the Tomytec chassis and fit into the 3D printed lower chassis of the locomotive
