"Slapchop" technique - reminder

It seems that the "slapchop" technique is a variant of a fast miniature painting technique. Here's a more detailed description of the process you mentioned:

Miniature Preparation: Begin with a miniature that has been primed with a layer of black primer. The black primer provides a good base for subsequent layers and enhances details.

Grey Base with Drybrush: Use a drybrushing technique to apply a grey layer to the miniature. Drybrushing involves applying a small amount of paint to the brush, then "drying" or "loading off" most of the paint onto a cloth or paper to remove excess. Then, with a lightly loaded brush, gently brush over the miniature. The result will be a grey base with black shadows in the recesses.

Detail Emphasis with White Drybrush: Next, apply a layer of white drybrush to the details of the miniature. This serves to further emphasize edges and prominent parts, creating contrast and highlighting details.

Application of Diluted Transparent Colors: Finally, apply diluted transparent colors to the miniature. These colors should flow into the recesses and darker areas but also onto the highlighted details. Using diluted transparent colors allows the grey base and details to remain visible under the new layer of color, creating an interesting effect and highlighting key elements of the miniature.

Remember that painting techniques can vary among artists and modelers, and you can adapt this procedure based on your personal preferences or the specific needs of your project.

--------------
